Healthy Children’s Learning Hub

Here at the Healthy Children’s Learning Hub you’ll find plenty of free online courses and resources for educators to teach children and young people how to make healthy lifestyle choices.

How to enrol

If you are an ACT Government employee, please log in to access the Health Promotion courses using your work email address and password.
  1. Select ‘My Learning’ from the Quick Action boxes at the top of your landing page.

  2. Enter ‘Health Promotion’ into the search field of the ‘Find Learning’ section. Then select the health promotion course you wish to access.

  3. You will see the Health Promotion courses (as listed below). Select the course you wish to enrol in.

If you are not an ACT Government employee, please fill out the account creation form to request an account to access the Health Promotion courses.

Once submitted, you will receive a confirmation email (allow 24 hours); follow the instructions within the email to create a password and login to access the Health Promotion courses, which you will find listed under ‘My Learning Assignments’.

Food&ME Preschool Professional Learning Course

This course provides practical ideas and materials to support the delivery of nutrition education to preschool students using the Food&ME Preschool Curriculum resource. This online course has been approved for two TQI teacher accredited hours. Food&ME Preschool is mapped to the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Standard.

Kids at Play Active Play logo

Kids at Play Active Play Professional Learning Course

This course provides information on the importance of active play and fundamental movement skills (FMS) development. It will also help early childhood educators feel confident to promote active play and teach FMS to children aged three and above in their early childhood education and care service or lower primary class. This online course has been approved for two TQI teacher accredited hours.

Food&ME Kindergarten – Year 6 Professional Learning Course

This course provides practical ideas and materials to support the delivery of nutrition education in the classroom using the Food&ME Kindergarten – Year 6 curriculum resources. This online course has been approved for two TQI teacher accredited hours. Food&ME is mapped to the Australian Curriculum and aligns with the Australian Dietary Guidelines and the National Healthy School Canteen Guidelines.

Entrepreneurs It’s Your Move logo

Entrepreneurs: It’s Your Move (IYM) Professional Learning Course

This course is an innovative, award-winning curriculum where students follow the design thinking and entrepreneurial process to produce solutions to improving the health of their school community. IYM is practical, interactive and fun, with strong links to Technologies and HPE. Teaching resources support a variety of flexible options for delivery. This online course has been approved for three TQI teacher accredited hours.

 Vaping, Youth and Health Professional Learning Course

This course supports teachers of students in years 7 and 8 in the development and delivery of learning programs about e-cigarettes and vaping. It provides evidence-based information on e-cigarettes, their health and environmental impacts, and access to a teacher toolkit including curriculum-linked classroom resources. Vaping, Youth and Health is mapped to the Australian Curriculum version 9. This online course has been approved for two TQI teacher accredited hours.
